Co Founder of Google Maps & Engineering Director for Facebook Graph Search Project, Australia
A Co-Founder of Google Maps, Lars is a Danish-born computer scientist who graduated from the University of Aarhus with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. After working in Google’s engineering team in Sydney, Lars moved to San Francisco to work at Facebook as the Engineering Director for the Facebook Graph Search project.
Lars has since moved to London to internationalise Facebook’s Graph Search project by making it more accessible to languages other than English. His work is still very much in the development stage and Lars continues to learn from his experiences.
With a huge background in technology and innovation, the achievements that Lars has made has given him one of the sharpest minds in the technology world. With Lars also heavily invested in other tech projects such as Canva and Posse, he is definitely one who keeps his ear to the ground and will provide a huge draw for entrants at the OzAPP Awards.
Lars has joined the OzAPP Awards Advisory Committee in early 2014 and is keen to become more involved in Australia’s startup ecosystem.
